You may also assist workers and journeyman by performing general duties of lesser skill, such as keeping them supplied with materials and tools; holding materials and tools; and cleaning working area, machines, or equipment. The ideal EMI HVAC General Maintenance Worker performs any task as instructed while following all health and safety standards. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training in a variety of building and/or utility trades
  • Valid driver’s license compliant with REAL ID Act or are you willing and able to obtain one
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Regular, dependable attendance
  • U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
  • Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping
  • Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces
  • Lifting and adjusting heavy objects, contact with sharp, hot and/or very cold supplies and equipment.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • CFC License or ability to obtain CFC License (minimum Type 2) within 90 days of employment

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions
  • Inspect drives, motors, pulleys and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists
  • Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery
  • Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts repair or replace parts and reassemble equipment
  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements
  • Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work
  • Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
