About The Position

The HVAC Field Performance Specialist is responsible for improving technician performance, service quality, and operational efficiency across field operations. This role serves as the bridge between field technicians and leadership by providing technical support, jobsite coaching, quality assurance, and process improvement initiatives. The Field Performance Specialist works closely with service technicians, installers, dispatch, and management to ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while driving customer satisfaction and operational performance.

Requirements

  • 10+ years HVAC field experience (service or installation)
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across multiple HVAC systems
  • RI License
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to coach and mentor technicians
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with boilers, furnaces, heat pumps, and ducted systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and operational support to HVAC technicians and installers in the field.
  • Assist technicians with troubleshooting complex systems including boilers, furnaces, heat pumps, and air conditioning systems.
  • Conduct jobsite visits to support installations, service calls, and system diagnostics.
  • Ensure technicians follow company installation standards, safety procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor technician performance metrics including: First-time fix rate Callback rate Job completion time Customer satisfaction and Google reviews
  • Identify performance gaps and provide coaching and training to technicians.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and quality.
  • Conduct installation and service quality audits to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Identify recurring technical issues and work with leadership to implement corrective actions.
  • Review completed jobs to ensure proper documentation, photos, and system commissioning.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching and technical training for technicians and installers.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new hires.
  • Share best practices and technical updates with field teams.
  • Collaborate with dispatch and management to resolve jobsite challenges.
  • Assist with technical escalations and complex service issues.
  • Support implementation of new equipment, processes, and operational initiatives.
