Now Hiring: Senior Facility Maintenance Technician (HVAC Certified) Pay: $25–$33 per hour DOE + shift differential Schedule: Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM Job Type: Full-Time | 2nd Shift This role is primarily focused on HVAC systems, including troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance for commercial and facility HVAC equipment. Additional responsibilities include supporting plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems throughout the facility.

Requirements

  • HVAC certification required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical or associate degree preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in facility maintenance or HVAC service
  • Strong hands-on experience servicing commercial HVAC systems
  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair HVAC systems independently
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Strong understanding of HVAC safety standards, refrigerant handling, and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to read schematics, manuals, and HVAC system diagrams
  • Excellent troubleshooting, time management, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills for working with team members, contractors, and management
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical maintenance tasks
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between facilities if required
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on complex HVAC issues
  • Comfortable working on rooftops, mechanical rooms, confined spaces, and elevated equipment
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts if needed
  • Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement
  • Interest in staying up to date with new HVAC technologies and best practices

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certifications such as Journeyman HVAC, CFC certification, or mechanical licensing
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) or HVAC control systems
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Knowledge of energy-efficient HVAC practices and sustainable facility operations

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including air handling units, compressors, condensers, ventilation systems, and refrigeration components
  • Diagnose and resolve complex HVAC performance and system control issues
  • Monitor and optimize HVAC system efficiency, airflow, and temperature controls
  • Maintain and service refrigerant systems in compliance with EPA and environmental regulations
  • Support maintenance and repair of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems across the facility
  • Lead complex maintenance tasks and provide technical HVAC expertise to the team
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, and service reports using CMMS or maintenance tracking systems
  • Assist with developing and executing preventive maintenance schedules
  • Respond to urgent HVAC and facility maintenance issues to minimize operational disruptions
  • Maintain maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, and inventory
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior maintenance staff, especially in HVAC troubleshooting and repair
  • Support facility improvement projects, including HVAC upgrades, replacements, and energy-efficiency improvements
