This position is for an experienced HVAC engineer with strong organizational, technical writing, and project management skills. This position requires proficiency with design, repair, maintenance, operation, and testing of shipboard HVAC systems. The candidate should have experience leading small teams in the execution of complex projects with defined technical, cost, and schedule restraints. Experience with ship construction and manufacturing processes is desired. Experience creating/reviewing shock extensions and coordinating with suppliers is desired. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. The engineer in this position will need clearly present technical information to our Navy customer and construction Trades regularly. The position will require the candidate to go aboard ships under construction and visit industrial fabrication facilities. Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
