About The Position

We are seeking an HVAC Designer to join our team supporting the DOE's Y-12 National Security Complex! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Responsibilities Experience in HVAC Design and 3D Modeling. Knowledge of related engineering systems, applications of engineering and construction methods and materials, and engineering application of computers. Plan, self-perform tasks, and multi-task on multiple projects. Present information clearly and effectively through the oral and written word and utilize automated workflow systems. Coordinate verification and validation of documents with technical and operations personnel prior to release for approval and implementation. Develop and maintain historical information. Prepare, interpret, maintain, and incorporate requirements of technical drawings and operating documents.

Requirements

  • Education & Years of Experience – Associate Degree in related discipline (HVAC or Fire Protection) with two or more years of progressive and relevant experience in HVAC and/or Fire Sprinkler System Design.
  • Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
  • Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
  • 5+ years of progressive and relevant experience in HVAC Design and 3D Modeling.
  • Experience in Revit and Smart Plant is a plus.
  • Experience working with point clouds and 3D modeling software for multi-discipline projects.
  • Familiarity with Trane Trace (or similar programs).
  • Technical knowledge of related engineering systems, applications of engineering and construction methods and materials, and engineering application of computers.
  • Ability to plan, self-perform tasks, and multi-task on multiple projects.
  • Must be able to coordinate verification and validation of documents with technical and operations personnel prior to release for approval and implementation.
  • Ability to develop and maintain historical information.
  • Ability to prepare, interpret, maintain, and incorporate requirements of technical drawings and operating documents.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Revit and Smart Plant is a plus.
  • Experience working with point clouds and 3D modeling software for multi-discipline projects.
  • Familiarity with Trane Trace (or similar programs).
  • DOE Work experience.
