About The Position

We are seeking an HVAC Design Engineer to join our team onsite in Greenville, South Carolina. This role focuses on the design, development, and implementation of HVAC systems for industrial and large-scale infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in HVAC system design, load calculations, and equipment sizing, along with a solid understanding of applicable codes and standards. This position plays a key role in supporting engineering design efforts, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring high-quality project delivery. This is a hands-on engineering role working closely with project teams, stakeholders, and other engineering disciplines to deliver efficient and compliant HVAC solutions.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of HVAC design experience in industrial, commercial, or EPC environments.
  • Experience with HVAC load calculations, ductwork design, and equipment selection.
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASHRAE, International Mechanical Code, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret and develop engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with 3D modeling and design tools (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Experience supporting EPC or large capital engineering projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain.
  • Knowledge of energy-efficient and sustainable HVAC design practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop HVAC systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and exhaust systems.
  • Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and system layout design.
  • Develop and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, structural, piping) to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Ensure designs align with project scope, schedule, and budget requirements
  • Provide technical support during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Review vendor submittals and ensure compliance with project specifications
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, IMC).
  • Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and risk assessments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to quality and safety standards.
