About The Position

The HVAC–DDC System Assessment Technical Representative is responsible for performing a comprehensive evaluation of the facility's HVAC and Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems, which are currently in operational failure and causing moisture-related building damage. The representative will conduct on-site diagnostics, testing, calibration, and provide corrective reprogramming of the Trane Tracer SC+ system. The role includes performing a full system assessment, documenting findings, and preparing a detailed corrective action report.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years documented experience in commercial HVAC and DDC diagnostics, service, and commissioning.
  • Formal certification in Trane Tracer SC+ Operations and Service.
  • Proficiency with BACnet (MS/TP and IP) and Modbus network protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including chillers, VAVs, VFDs, air distribution, and psychometrics
  • Valid driver's license (eligible for on‑island license).

Responsibilities

  • Review as-built mechanical and control drawings, Sequence of Operations (SOO), historical maintenance logs, repair records, and trend data.
  • Perform full evaluation of: DDC Controllers & Network
  • Verify communication/power status and diagnose software alarms & programming faults.
  • Calibrate all critical sensors (temperature, humidity, and pressure).
  • Test actuators, valves, VAVs, and VFDs through full range of motion.
  • Inspect AHUs, DOAS units, pumps, chillers, and other major components.
  • Validate mechanical response to DDC commands.
  • Check refrigerant levels, safety controls, pump seals, and clean strainers.
  • Conduct system performance verification, including occupied/unoccupied modes, economizer operations, and heating/cooling changeover.
  • Confirm ability to maintain temperature/humidity setpoints under load.
  • Provide root-cause analysis of system failures.
  • Deliver prioritized recommendations for repairs, replacements, upgrades, and programming changes.
  • Provide defective component list and a combined mechanical/DDC maintenance checklist.
  • Provide updated or proposed Sequence of Operations (SOO).
  • Provide list of required tools/materials; arrange shipment when not available on-island.
  • Follow all KBR, federal, NSF Diego Garcia, and BIOT regulations.
  • Wear PPE provided and maintain proper identification.
