Requirements

  • Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
  • 1+ years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
  • Generally required knowledge includes mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site.
  • Self-starter with ability to eventually work independently.
  • Prioritize safety in all forms.
  • This position requires a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of trade school or college in a technical emphasis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items.
  • Train and perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.
  • Participate in certified training through Service Technical Academy.
  • Develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve both technical issues as well as customer needs.
  • Keep JCI, contractors, and the customer advised of job progress and issues as needed.
  • Meet attendance requirements for required Union training for first year.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility is running efficiently.
  • Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

  • Pay Range: $32.41 - $34.43 USD Hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
  • Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
