About The Position

As a Data Center HVAC Foreman, you’ll play a pivotal role in keeping mission‑critical environments running at peak performance. You’ll lead technical operations, guide technicians, and ensure our customers’ facilities remain efficient, reliable, and compliant. Your expertise will directly support uptime, energy optimization, and customer trust. You will: • Lead preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC and building automation systems within high‑availability data center environments. • Serve as a technical mentor and coach for branch technicians, helping elevate skill levels and ensure consistent, high‑quality service delivery. • Provide Level 1 technical support and act as a go‑to resource for complex system issues. • Ensure all work meets federal, state, and local requirements while upholding the highest ethical and safety standards. • Deliver clear, accurate service documentation and communicate findings and recommendations to customers. • Act as a trusted advisor—identifying inefficiencies, proposing solutions, and supporting customers in making informed decisions about system upgrades and repairs. How You Will Do It You’ll bring leadership, technical depth, and customer‑focused communication to every interaction. You will: • Model and enforce Johnson Controls and customer safety standards, promoting a culture of safety across all job sites. • Provide on‑the‑job training, guidance, and escalation support for technicians and subcontractors. • Troubleshoot and resolve complex HVAC and controls issues, offering expert‑level insight and solutions. • Collaborate with branch leadership to ensure operational discipline, technician development, and consistent service quality. • Support estimating and quoting for labor and materials, helping scope and plan service and installation work. • Communicate proactively with customers—explaining work performed, identifying system concerns, and recommending enhancements. • Manage your workload to deliver timely, professional service that meets or exceeds customer expectations. • Continuously develop your technical expertise through self‑study, training, and certifications. • Identify opportunities to improve facility performance and present value‑driven recommendations, including quotes for upgrades or repairs. What We Look For Required Qualifications We’re looking for a leader who brings both technical mastery and strong people skills. You should have: • Demonstrated leadership experience—coaching, coordinating, or supervising technicians or contractors. • Strong HVAC and mechanical systems expertise, ideally within mission‑critical or data center environments. • The ability to work independently while coordinating the efforts of others on customer sites. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. • A customer‑first mindset, with the professionalism and interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls effectively. This is a Bargaining Unit Position. Pay Range: Hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
