The HVAC Controls Technician installs, maintains, and repairs systems that control heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR). This position also programs the systems that run HVAC in buildings, supports troubleshooting and programming temperature control systems based on building specifications, and provides insights and recommendations that contribute to task completion. The technician leads and is partially accountable for the Pipe/Mech Trades II HVAC staff in the Southern District, providing guidance, training, and support to new staff. Responsibilities include installation and configuration of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), troubleshooting HVAC systems, and optimizing building systems for performance and energy efficiency.
