As a Controls Technician with Trane, you'll enjoy steady hours while working with a collaborative and supportive team! Trane is seeking a Commercial HVAC Controls Technician / Building Automation Specialist in the Portland, Maine area. In this exciting role in our Controls Division, you will be commissioning, programming, setting up graphics, communications link, end to end testing and troubleshooting on assigned projects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with commercial controls and BAS systems.
  • Previous experience with DDC controls system preferred.
  • Previous background in programming, commissioning and startup of Trane, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, or Tridium/Niagara based controls systems is highly desirable.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office and comfortable with hand-held devices (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).
  • A valid driver's license, with no major or frequent traffic violations.
  • Ability to overtime as needed to support the business, including occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

  • Set up the Building Automation Systems on diverse job sites in and around the area.
  • Responsible for the startup and commission of BAS systems including point-to-point verification and documentation.
  • Programming and validating sequences of operations and job close-out requirements.
  • Coordinates with team leader and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site work, gathering materials and synchronizing on-site work.
  • Keeps current on Trane products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems.
  • Continually enforces safety to the highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions.
