About The Position

EMCOR Services Aircond is seeking an HVAC Controls Installer Apprentice - Low-Voltage to support the installation of Building Automation System (BAS) components for commercial HVAC systems. This role is essential to ensuring the infrastructure is properly installed and ready for programming and commissioning. This position is based out of the Charlotte, NC area and will require travel throughout the region.

Requirements

• 0-2 years in low-voltage or automation technician roles.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• Basic computer and programming aptitude.
• Ability to read control/mechanical drawings.
• Familiarity with HVAC and electrical fundamentals.
• Proficiency in low-voltage terminations.
• Ability to bend and install conduit is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install low-voltage wiring, sensors, actuators, and control panels per project specifications.
• Terminate control and communication wiring at BAS controllers and field devices.
• Mount control components securely and accurately.
• Perform pre-commissioning checks for wiring and installation accuracy.
• Label components and update drawings to reflect as-built conditions.
• Collaborate with electricians and mechanical contractors to ensure system readiness.
• Follow OSHA and ANSI/TIA/EIA-862 safety and cabling standards.
