About The Position

Firelands Health is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to join our team. This position involves repairing and troubleshooting HVAC equipment, V.F.D's, pumps, heat exchangers, chillers, and the Energy Management Program. The technician will also handle repairs for boilers, steam or hot water heating systems, and assist with electrical and plumbing issues. The role requires maintaining good paperwork, records, and documentation, as well as performing regular checks on lighting and making necessary repairs. The technician will also be responsible for minor repairs on vehicles and snow removal when necessary. This position offers a retention bonus of $2,500 and the opportunity to work in a supportive environment that values work/life balance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of BAS controls and HVAC system knowledge.
  • Above average knowledge of software, medium and low voltage control systems, cyclometric methodology, and enthalpy methodology.
  • Knowledge of economizing controls and pressure relationships.
  • Understanding of HVAC equipment, V.F.D's, pumps, heat exchangers, chillers, and the Energy Management Program.
  • Ability to troubleshoot steam or hot water heating systems.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team member.
  • Possession of a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and insurability under Firelands' auto policy.
  • Proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request.
  • Punctual attendance at assigned work location.
  • Ability to work safely and maintain an accident-free workplace.
  • Knowledge of Hospital emergency codes and compliance with OSHA regulations and CDC recommendations.
  • Successful completion of a ninety (90) day probationary period.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and troubleshoots HVAC equipment, V.F.D's, pumps, heat exchangers, chillers, and the Energy Management Program.
  • Repairs and troubleshoots boilers, steam or hot water heating systems.
  • Performs corrective and requisitioned repairs of electrical problems and assists the electrician in troubleshooting.
  • Performs corrective and requisitioned repairs of plumbing problems and assists other maintenance mechanics.
  • Picks up various supplies, parts, and building materials and delivers them to appropriate locations.
  • Maintains good paperwork, records, and documentation.
  • Checks lighting in and around the building regularly, replaces bulbs, and makes necessary repairs to fixtures.
  • Repairs extension cords and replaces receptacles.
  • Makes minor repairs on cars, trucks, garden tractors, snow equipment, and accessories.
  • Shovels or plows snow and salts walks when necessary.
