About The Position

The HVAC/Boiler Technician at Amentum is responsible for maintaining and repairing HVAC and boiler systems in a commercial or industrial setting. This role requires expertise in preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, ensuring optimal operation of mechanical systems, and providing excellent customer service. The technician will work collaboratively in a team environment, addressing safety issues, and performing routine inspections and maintenance on various equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • EPA Universal Refrigeration License.
  • Five years of experience as an HVAC/R - Boiler maintenance technician in industrial or commercial environments.
  • Ability to pass a medical evaluation for respirator use.
  • Ability to obtain a security access badge at the client's location.
  • Fluency in computer use, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree preferred.
  • Experience in a GMP or similar regulated environment.
  • Ability to read and understand repair manuals and schematic diagrams.
  • Experience with heavy industrial or manufacturing plant systems.
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on HVAC and boiler equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal operation of mechanical systems.
  • Maintain, inspect, and repair boilers, burners, controls, and related equipment.
  • Identify and correct safety-related issues and evaluate equipment for potential failures.
  • Test boiler water and adjust chemicals to prevent corrosion and harmful deposits.
  • Operate, maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair ventilation equipment and other mechanical systems.
  • Utilize building automation systems to track building conditions and equipment operation.
  • Recharge refrigerant levels and ensure proper functioning of air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
  • Complete preventive and predictive maintenance as scheduled from a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Respond to customer service requests and ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Follow safety guidelines and perform job hazard analysis.
