About The Position

We are looking to hire a HVAC/Appliance Mechanic to join our team. This person will perform heating, ventilations, and air-conditioning mechanic installation, perform preventive maintenance and repair environmental-control systems and equipment. Identifying maintenance risks on equipment. Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC and Commercial kitchen systems. Clean, adjust and repair systems, and perform warranty services.

Requirements

Minimum of four years in the HVAC trade.
Universal certification credentials.
Must be able to continually bend, squat, kneel, lift, twist, climb, reach, stand and walk in a 10-hour day.
Use hands for repetitive pushing, pulling, and single grasp motion.
Frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and to move objects in excess of 50 pounds.
Travel by company vehicle to work location or to other destinations as required.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Insurable driving record.
Ability to read and write in English.
Must be able to pass a company drug screen and background check.
Must possess or be able to obtain a NACI (National Agency Check with Inquiries).

Nice To Haves

Commercial Kitchen experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Installs, services and repairs electric, electronic, pneumatic, and direct digital environmental control systems in office buildings and other commercial establishments, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout.
Installs, services, and repairs all types of commercial kitchen equipment systems in dining facilities, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory and pipefitting.
Mounts compressor and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools and following blueprints or engineering specifications.
Fabricates, assembles, and installs ductwork and chassis parts, using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment.
Installs evaporator unit in chassis or in air duct system and medical refrigerators.
Cuts and bends tubing and pipe using proper tools.
Joins tubing or pipes using sleeves, couplings or unions and solders joints using torch, forming complete circuit for refrigerant.
Installs expansion and discharge valve in circuit.
Connects motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connects control panels to power source.
Installs air and water filters in completed installation.
Perform pressure tests on systems using nitrogen gas and check joints/filling connections using gauges and soap and water solution prior to the installation of refrigerant.
Observes pressure and vacuum gauges and adjusts controls to insure proper operation.
Wraps pipe in insulation batting and secure them in place with cement or wire bands.
Replace defective breaker controls and install units using electrician’s hand tools and test equipment.
May install, repair and service air conditioners, package A/C & chillers ranging up to 400-ton cooling capacity in commercial facilities.
Other duties/tasks as assigned.
