About The Position

We are seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized HVAC and Plumbing Estimator (Co-op) to support our HVAC and Plumbing Divisions. This position offers hands-on experience in residential construction estimating while assisting with the preparation of accurate and timely cost estimates for HVAC and plumbing projects. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, has a strong technical aptitude, and is interested in pursuing a career in construction, HVAC, or mechanical estimating.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical program.
• Basic understanding of HVAC and plumbing systems preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
• Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Accubid Anywhere) is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope of work.
• Perform basic material, labor, and equipment takeoffs under supervision.
• Assist in preparing project proposals and cost summaries for residential HVAC and plumbing projects.
• Update and maintain material cost databases and estimating templates.
• Support the estimating team in reviewing bids and vendor quotes.
• Collaborate with project managers and division leaders to clarify project details.
• Organize and maintain estimating files, correspondence, and documentation.
• Learn and adhere to company standards, codes, and industry best practices.
