About The Position

Scope of Position: Auger Fabrication is a leading supplier in replacement augers and tooling. We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist with strong manual machining experience. This role is ideal for a candidate who not only understands CNC programming, setup, and operation, but also possesses the hands-on ability to machine parts manually using lathes, mills, and other conventional tools when needed.

Requirements

Strong manual machining experience - must be able to machine a part by hand when necessary.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM.
Mechanical aptitude and good math skills.
Functional and technical skills.
Supply Management.
Detail orientated and results driven.
Good communication ability.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Must have 2+ years of experience as a CNC machinist.

Experience with a Hurco CNC Milling Machine a huge plus.

Responsibilities

Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three-and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushes; indicating vices; trimming heads
Perform manual machining operations on lathes, mills, and other equipment to complete or modify parts as required.
Preparing and loading raw materials and parts onto machine.
Verifies setting by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standards.
Preparing a test run to check if the machine produces outputs according to specifications.
Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
Detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process had been completed properly.
Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Completes productions and quality logs.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
