About The Position
At Humana, IT Interns focus on a variety of projects and tasks designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the IT landscape within a leading healthcare organization. The program is designed to offer practical experience in areas including project management, agile methodologies, software engineering, cloud engineering, data science/analytics/visualization, user experience UI/UX, machine learning, and cyber security initiatives. The internship program is primarily hosted in-person at Humana's Headquarters in Louisville, KY, providing a rich experience of our corporate culture and direct mentorship from industry leaders. We recognize individual circumstances may vary, and remote opportunities are available based on individual circumstances. The Intern acts as an apprentice while completing formal education. Decisions are typically focused on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to meet work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion. During the 12-week internship program, interns can expect onboarding and orientation, working closely with seasoned leaders during assigned projects, attending executive level presentations and developmental workshops, and having a strong support circle including direct leaders, program managers, and mentors. Interns will also have access to training and development opportunities, participate in intern-led committees including Hackathon, Inspire Health, Volunteering, and more, and have access to Network Resources Groups (NRGs). Housing is provided for Louisville-based interns.
