About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking a Human Subject Research Coordinator to coordinate the activities associated with human subject research. This role involves managing the administrative details required to initiate and conduct research, including the distribution and explanation of study information, assisting in recruitment and screening activities, and ensuring adherence to research protocols. The coordinator will work closely with the Principal Investigator and other team members to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and to facilitate effective communication with study sponsors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required or Associate's degree and completion of 6 months in the Human Subject Research Coordinator Trainee program.
  • Prior experience as a Phlebotomist preferred.
  • Knowledge of word processing and data analysis software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the administrative details required to initiate and conduct human subject research.
  • Assists in human subject recruitment and screening activities.
  • Conducts telephone interviews to screen potential study candidates.
  • Reviews medical chart history with Principal Investigator to verify inclusion criteria are met before enrollment.
  • Conducts visits to ensure research participant adherence with protocol requirements.
  • Documents adverse events and reports to senior study staff, PI, IRB, Sponsor, and other required entities.
  • Ensures all data are collected and secured within approved parameters and procedures.
  • Trains staff on details of protocol, including inclusion and exclusion criteria, informed consent procedures, and study activities.
  • Acts as liaison with Sponsor’s Monitor to provide data clarifications and ensure thorough understanding of study protocols.
  • Prepares for and participates in scheduled Sponsor monitoring visits.
  • Keeps current with all federal, state, sponsor, and institutional policies and laws.
  • Demonstrates accountability for continuous learning in accordance with Good Clinical Practice standards.
