About The Position

Are you looking for a career that will make an impact? Leidos is seeking a Research Assistant I to support intramural human use research at the Naval Medical Research Unit Dayton, OH, specifically focused on projects that investigate human performance under a number of stressors that are common in aerospace environments. These stressors may include hypoxia, breathing resistance, motion sickness, spatial disorientation, thermal stress, and others. Are you ready for unique and exciting work? As our successful candidate you would be specifically focused on Vestibular Science, Human Factors, and Physiology. This research supports the performance, resilience, and wellness of service members to optimize warfighter performance in the most trying environments. Primary Responsibilities Conduct research, serving as Research Assistant I, collecting data and following research protocols. With guidance and training, may make independent decisions on subject, research assistant, and intern safety. With guidance and training, may determine if/when it is appropriate to begin data collection, daily. With guidance and training, may determine who can participate in studies based our subject criteria. Perform and/or assist with recruiting for studies. Assist with research process across the project's lifecycle, including but not limited to conducting literature searches and preparing bibliographies, performing pilot testing, preparing research protocols, developing experimental procedures, screening, and scheduling of study participants. Assist with scheduling, subject screening, data collection, data management, and data analysis. Assist in the preparation of research protocols.
