About The Position

The Human Subject Research Specialist II at the University of Rochester will coordinate human subject research activities within the Department of Neurology's Cerebrovascular and Neurocognitive Research Group (CNRG). This role involves independent judgment in managing various research studies, mentoring junior coordinators, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The specialist will engage in recruitment, consent, and retention of study subjects, while also overseeing the operational aspects of clinical trials and observational studies related to cerebrovascular diseases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3 years of experience in human subject research coordination required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience as Human Subject Research Coordinator I preferred.
  • Proficiency in word processing and data analysis software required.
  • Professional Research Coordinator certification (SoCRA or ACRP) preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in clinical trials and multi-center research studies.
  • Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice guidelines and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate human subject research activities, including multiple site studies.
  • Provide training on regulations and policies related to human subject research.
  • Develop and evaluate recruitment strategies and study management systems.
  • Participate in the development and approval of case report forms and study-specific documents.
  • Recruit, consent, enroll, and retain study subjects across various studies.
  • Manage and update registries for subject recruitment.
  • Conduct research study visits according to protocol and perform study-related procedures.
  • Mentor and train junior coordinators and supervise students as assigned.
  • Manage IRB submissions and maintain regulatory documentation for studies.
  • Serve as a liaison between research teams, administration, and sponsors.
