About the position

The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC), Division of Adult Institutions operates 13 correctional facilities that house Kentucky's adult inmate population. The mission of DOC is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior. The Human Services Program Supervisor at GRCC is responsible for the oversight of the Therapeutic Community Substance Abuse Program within the Institution.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, Implements, and Enforces Policies and Procedures relative to the Substance Abuse Treatment Program for the Institution.
  • Requests, Collects, Edits and Analyzes data to help write program status reports.
  • Manages program budget.
  • Supervise and assign work of staff.
  • Prepares pre-parole evaluations of offenders.
  • Assists in recruitment of staff.
  • Coordinates training.
  • Acts as Department Liaison to Other Entities In the Mental Health Field.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Four years of professional experience in the administration of human services programs, emergency management services, emergency medical technician, paramedic, or related field.
  • A master's degree in social work, health administration, labor relations, public or business administration or related field will substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Administrative or business experience, or professional, subprofessional, or clerical work in a human services area, emergency management services, emergency medical technician, paramedic, or related field will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
