About The Position

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Human Services or a related area.
  • One year of full-time work experience in human services intake, assessment, and referral, or three years of relevant experience.
  • Valid NY State Class D driver's license and availability of a car for daily use.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct orientations for programs like Family Self-Sufficiency and monitor participant progress.
  • Follow up with tenants regarding inspection issues on a monthly basis.
  • Assess participants' needs in education, training, childcare, transportation, and healthcare.
  • Interview participants to gather data on income and household expenses.
  • Verify participant information by inspecting documents and contacting relevant agencies.
  • Determine eligibility and suitability of participants for programs.
  • Counsel participants on credit issues and assist with disputes.
  • Refer participants to community-based agencies for additional support.
  • Track and evaluate program outcomes and monitor participants' escrow accounts.
  • Compute income and expenses to determine housing eligibility and set rental charges.
  • Coordinate training, home ownership fairs, and wellness clinics for participants.
  • Provide customer service to participants regarding re-certifications and inspections.
  • Maintain accurate participant records and documentation.
  • Represent the Housing Authority at community events and taskforces.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with a salary range of $36,000 - $51,500 per year.
