About The Position

This is a professional position assigned to the FDOH Nassau for the purpose of serving the Healthy Start program. The Program Manager's dual roles include planning, monitoring, evaluation, and supervision of direct staff that provide ongoing intensive services to at-risk families in Nassau County. Additional duties added include grant writing to obtain new funding to expand services. Supervision is directed at ensuring risk appropriate care for clients, assuring quality services and protecting the integrity and respect of the families we serve. This position is responsible for FDOH Nassau Healthy Start Program Management to include the following: Responsible for planning, monitoring and evaluation of the Healthy Start program. This includes assuring services are designed to best meet the trends and needs of the community as it relates to infant death, fetal death, teen pregnancy, and low birth weight births. This position also is responsible for planning and management of program budget. Supervises direct reports including motivating, training, providing guidance, and direction. Develops expectations and meets with staff regularly to discuss performance, complete performance reviews, and discipline action, if needed. Maintains vacation and work schedules to ensure proper coverage and completes timesheets. Supervision to include review of cases, review of FSP and level 3 clients, review of current stress/workload concerns and training of program staff. Management of staff – facilitation of regular staff meetings, to include training, team building, and case review. Clinical consultation and counseling services provided to families who are high risk. Attendance at local community meetings which relate to Healthy Start population, community agency networking. Promotion of client access to outside resources and community collaboration. Plan and coordinate training sessions for staff on maternal and child health issues. Responsible for monthly, quarterly and the annual report to the Healthy Start Coalition. Maintains adherence to the Florida Department of Health Healthy Start Standards and Guidelines; Evaluation of services monthly

Requirements

  • Knowledge of practices in counseling and social work
  • Knowledge of professional ethics in relation to education and supportive counseling

  • Requires travel in various clinic locations and other community partners in Nassau County throughout the day.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to bend, squat, or stand for prolonged time, and lift up to 35 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience with engaging with community partners.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with the major course of study in social services, nursing, community/public health or related studies.
  • Preferred with public speaking experience.
  • Preferred ability to fluently read, write, and speak both English and Spanish.
  • Preferred Healthy Start or Maternal Health experience.
  • Preferred MPH, MSN, or LCSW
  • A current/active license, in good standing, in the state of Florida, with related degrees of social service, nursing, community/public health or related studies.
