The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, with approximately 17,000 employees. It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence. The Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities (DSOHF) is North Carolina’s statewide safety-net provider, delivering critical mental health, developmental disability, neuro-medical, and substance use services to individuals with the most complex needs. DSOHF operates thirteen facilities serving communities across the state and has the responsibility to ensure programs and services are effective, efficient, and aligned with the state’s commitment to provide high-quality, person-centered care. The agency is seeking a Director of Strategy to help shape the future of this essential mission. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, this role will drive strategic direction, strengthen system performance, and lead initiatives that directly impact the well-being of North Carolinians who rely on state-operated services.
