About the position

The Human Services Developer 2 position at the Department of Children and Youth focuses on researching, analyzing, and implementing policies and procedures for various human services program areas. The role involves providing consultative expertise and technical assistance to public and private children services agencies, ensuring compliance with federal and state guidelines, and enhancing program effectiveness through statistical analysis and evaluation criteria. Responsibilities

  • Research, analyze, formulate, revise, and implement policies and procedures for assigned human services program areas.
  • Provide consultative expertise and technical assistance to Public Children Services Agencies (PCSAs) and private children services agencies.
  • Respond to inquiries from citizens, federal and state legislators, and client advocacy agencies.
  • Prepare reports, position papers, and research documents.
  • Perform statistical analysis and develop evaluation criteria to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and travel to attend meetings, conferences, and trainings.

Requirements

  • Completion of undergraduate core program in social or behavioral science, health services public administration, public policy management or comparable field.
  • 36 months of experience in researching, developing or implementing policies related to social services, health services, public policy or comparable field.
  • 12 months of training or experience in research methodology, measurement & testing, analysis of variance & survey sampling.
  • 6 months of training or experience in the use of computer hardware & software for spreadsheets, statistical analysis, graphics presentation & word processing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Completion of graduate coursework in social or behavioral science, health services public administration, public policy management or comparable field.
  • 24 months of experience in researching, developing or implementing policies related to social services, health services, public policy or comparable field.
