About The Position

The Human Services Counselor III position is focused on providing essential services to vulnerable adults in crisis, ensuring their safety and independence. This role involves case management for various programs, requiring strong decision-making skills and the ability to work in high-pressure situations. The counselor will engage with clients, coordinate services, and advocate for their needs, all while maintaining a professional demeanor in challenging circumstances.

Requirements

• An Associate's degree or a minimum of 60 semester hours and two years of professional experience in relevant fields; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Professional experience can substitute for required college education on a year-for-year basis.
• A valid Driver License and operational private vehicle for work activities.

• Knowledge of community resources and services for vulnerable populations.

Responsibilities

• Arrange and provide services to eligible Adult Protective Services clients.
• Perform scheduled service visits and update care plans.
• Interview new applicants and evaluate them for assistance programs.
• Provide and arrange services through the case management process.
• Coordinate services for clients with appropriate agencies and resources.
• Attend court hearings and coordinate court-ordered activities with legal staff.
• Advocate for clients to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
• Complete and process required paperwork related to client services.
• Maintain case records according to program policies.
