Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to organize, track, and interpret data with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Four years of college education or two years of specialized experience in eligibility determination.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Benefits Program Specialist with eligibility determinations for title IV-E and Medicaid programs.
  • Conduct initial Medicaid enrollment and annual redeterminations for CWS foster care and adoption programs.
  • Gather and file information electronically to determine Medicaid eligibility.
  • Utilize state databases to collect necessary information for eligibility assessments.
  • Organize and track information using Microsoft Excel.
  • Verify eligibility criteria by obtaining documentation from Family Services Specialists.
  • Maintain children's eligibility records for state and federal audits.
  • Upload documents to the COMPASS Portal following approved naming conventions.
  • Monitor OASIS for current foster care funding and placement information.
  • Ensure accurate data entry into the payment system for title IV-E foster care payments.
  • Communicate with the Division of Child Support Enforcement for referrals and information sharing.
  • Schedule and obtain results of paternity testing for CWS as needed.
  • Cross-train and provide coverage in the absence of the Senior BPS.
  • Establish effective working relationships with coworkers and external agencies.
  • Attend required trainings to stay updated on policies and issues.
