About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct alcohol and drug use screenings for adolescents in an alternative school setting and/or clinic. The role also includes facilitating educational classes for at-risk youth on substance use and prevention. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to build rapport with youth and school personnel, and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. At the time of application individual must possess a valid Maryland Driver's License and have reliable transportation.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in a social or behavioral science.
  • Experience as described in essential duties may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of four years for the required education.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of a valid certification or license issued by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists, such as: Certified Supervised Counselor-Alcohol and Drug (CSC-AD) Certified Associate Counselor-Alcohol and Drug (CAC-AD) Certified Professional Counselor-Alcohol and Drug (CPC-AD) Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a care coordinator and client case manager.
  • Outreach, referral for substance use and mental health counseling.
  • Linkage to community support services to include housing and employment services, and naloxone training.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and will provide data for reporting as requested.
  • Provide services on-site and Baltimore County Detention Center and in the community.
