About The Position
The Department of Human Sciences at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#119040) in textiles, merchandising, and design at the rank of lecturer. This is a one-year temporary appointment. The contract may be renewed annually based on available funding, demonstrated need, and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The start date for the appointment is August 1, 2025. The successful applicant will teach undergraduate courses in apparel design in the areas of technical design and fashion technologies with Adobe Creative Suite, 3D Visualization, or apparel patternmaking software. Additional potential teaching opportunities include fashion illustration, history of fashion, textiles, or fashion promotion. In addition, the successful applicant is expected to communicate effectively, establish positive working relationships, and contribute to team endeavors, particularly within the program, department, and across disciplines.
