Human Resources US Leave Management and Accommodations Specialist We are seeking a knowledgeable and empathetic Leave of Absence Specialist to oversee and administer employee leave programs across the U.S. and Canada. This role involves managing leave requests, coordinating benefits—including U.S. state-provided programs—and working closely with third-party vendors to ensure a seamless employee experience. Key Responsibilities: U.S. Leave Administration: Analyze and process leave of absence requests including FMLA, ADA, parental leave, personal leave, and other statutory and company-sponsored leaves. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations. Support global leave administration by collaborating with regional HR teams and understanding country-specific leave entitlements. U.S. State Benefits Coordination: Coordinate with internal benefits teams and external providers to align leave with short-term disability (STD), long-term disability (LTD), workers’ compensation, and paid family leave programs. Liaise with state agencies to facilitate claims and ensure proper documentation and benefit alignment (e.g., OR PFL, NJ FLI, WA PFML). Educate employees on how state and company benefits interact during leave periods. Vendor Management: Serve as a contact for Leave of Absence vendors and third-party administrators. Escalate vendor performance trends and issues as needed to ensure timely and accurate leave processing. Employee & Manager Support: Provide clear, compassionate guidance to employees and managers throughout the leave process with minimum supervision. Facilitate return-to-work planning and ADA accommodations in partnership with HR and legal teams. US, MX and Canada Compliance & Reporting: Maintain accurate leave records in HRIS and case management systems. Generate reports and analyze leave trends to support HR strategy and compliance audits. Stay current on changes in leave laws and recommend policy updates as needed.
