About The Position

The Human Resources Technician position at the County of El Dorado involves supporting the Recruitment and Selection unit within the Human Resources Department. The role focuses on recruiting qualified candidates, ensuring compliance with personnel rules and laws, and performing various administrative and technical tasks related to human resources. The selected candidate will engage in marketing, recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing HR functions, contributing to the overall effectiveness of County services.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to graduation from high school, supplemented by 24 semester units of college-level coursework in human resources management, business administration, public administration, industrial/organizational psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Two years of full-time experience performing varied and complex clerical work related to human resources, including explaining policies, performing data entry, and processing forms and records.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, a valid California or Nevada Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of responsible paraprofessional, technical, and administrative human resources support duties.
  • Conduct technical recruitment and selection activities, including conferring with HR Analysts and County departments regarding job content and selection processes.
  • Draft job announcements, informational brochures, and advertisements; conduct routine applicant screening.
  • Prepare applicant notification letters and inform candidates throughout the selection process.
  • Confer and correspond with written exam source agencies; review and order written exams for administration.
  • Proctor written exams and score written exam segments; recommend appropriate pass points.
  • Compile testing documents including interview questions and rating sheets; administer written and oral performance exams.
  • Assist in obtaining oral exam rating panel members and instruct the panel on proper procedures; monitor oral exam proceedings.
