About The Position

The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the human resources department, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with company standards. The Supervisor plays a key role in managing team performance, providing direction and guidance, and ensuring that operational goals are met. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage the workflow and support team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HR, with at least 1-3 years in a supervisory role
  • Strong understanding of HR functions and best practices.
  • Knowledge of labor laws, employee relations, performance management, and HR compliance.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems), ATS, and Microsoft.
  • In-depth knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA, FEHA, and related regulations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities with a focus on staff development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and build positive working relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and HR systems.
  • Comfortable adapting to change and leading others through system and process improvements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Paycom) and applicant tracking systems (e.g., Greenhouse) preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Staff Management & Development: Supervise and mentor HR staff, providing regular coaching and performance feedback. Conduct training to ensure staff proficiency and adherence to HR policies. Delegate responsibilities to ensure timely and efficient workflow.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Oversee the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, screening, and interviews. Coordinate onboarding to ensure a smooth transition for new hires. Partner with department leaders to assess staffing needs and attract qualified candidates.
  • Compliance & Policy Implementation: Ensure HR operations comply with federal, state, and local labor laws. Enforce company policies related to attendance, leave, and benefits. Monitor legal updates and revise policies as needed.
  • Benefits & Compensation Administration: Support administration of employee benefits, such as health plans and retirement. Assist with ensuring compensation practices align with industry benchmarks. Address employee questions related to benefits and payroll.
  • HR Reporting & Data Management: Generate and analyze HR reports (e.g., turnover, absenteeism, recruitment metrics). Use HR data to recommend operational improvements. Maintain accurate and compliant employee records.
  • HR Projects & Strategic Initiatives: Lead or support HR initiatives including engagement programs and DEI efforts. Collaborate with leadership on strategies that align with agency goals. Contribute to ongoing system upgrades and process improvements (e.g., HRIS/ATS).
  • Leave Administration: Oversee all leave processes (FMLA, ADA, workers' comp, disability, military, etc.). Ensure compliance with applicable leave laws and agency procedures. Serve as the primary contact for leave-related questions and documentation. Coordinate return-to-work processes and maintain accurate leave records.
