About The Position

The Human Resources Supervisor C Shift is responsible for supervising the day-to-day administration of personnel policies and practices at the assigned location. This role involves recommending program changes or enhancements to meet human resource requirements, assisting with the preparation of separation notices for employees separating with cause, and conducting exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations. The supervisor prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover, may represent the company at personnel-related hearings and investigations, and partners with management to advise and counsel on employee issues. Additionally, the supervisor provides facility supervision on employee relations matters, ensuring regulatory compliance with ADA, FMLA, EEOC, and stays current on labor law updates. The role also includes overseeing training throughout the plant, mentoring trainers, monitoring payroll and vacations for the training department, and evaluating work performance of trainers and instructors. Job performance is measured by the HR Director based on criteria such as attainment of training goals and minimizing turnover.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in HR.
  • Ability to work additional hours/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the day-to-day administration of personnel policies and practices at assigned location.
  • Recommends program changes or enhancements to meet human resource requirements.
  • Assists with the preparation of separation notices for employees separating with cause and may conduct exit interviews.
  • Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
  • Represents the company at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Partners with management to advise and counsel on employee issues.
  • Provides facility supervision on employee relations matters including investigation, conflict resolution, and communication.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance with ADA, FMLA, EEOC, etc.
  • Oversees training throughout the plant including New Hire Orientation and annual training.
  • Oversees Production trainers to ensure success in new hire training.
  • Acts as a mentor to trainers to ensure all new hires are assigned a trainer.
  • Ensures alchemy training is at 100% annually.
  • Monitors payroll and vacations for the training department.
  • Maintains inventory of training supplies.
  • Reads and follows up on weekly new-hire evaluations.
  • Evaluates work performance of trainers, classroom instructors, and clerks.
  • Performs disciplinary procedures ranging from verbal warnings to terminations.
  • Develops and updates forms for training.
  • Follows up on all department issues.
  • Spends time on the production floor to determine production needs.
  • Maintains an open door policy for employee concerns.
  • Initiates and implements ideas for improving training.
