About The Position

The Human Resource (HR) Specialist at Tennessee Oncology is responsible for managing the onboarding process for new hires and assisting in various aspects of benefit administration. This role supports the day-to-day operations of the HR department, focusing on recruitment, employee relations, training, and compliance with legal requirements. The HR Specialist is expected to be service-oriented, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of proven experience in Human Resources.
  • BS in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Business Management or Related Field.
  • Experience with an HRIS system and/or an online benefits portal, preferably SAGE.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent decision-making and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new and/or changing environments and support innovation and change.
  • Knowledge of relevant employment laws and local policies and procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and prioritization skills required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM-CP or HCRI-PHR preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with activities related to recruitment and onboarding, including pre and post onboarding of employees.
  • Manage orientation and training materials.
  • Assist with benefit-related activities including processing enrollments, life event changes, terminations, and open enrollment.
  • Keep electronic employee records up-to-date and maintain traditional personnel files in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Administer HR programs, procedures, and guidelines to align the workforce with the company's strategic goals.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Prepare data and information for annual reporting, HR audits, and compliance needs.
  • Handle special projects as assigned by the Director.
