As a family company, Meijer is dedicated to serving people and communities, and we are looking for a passionate Human Resources Representative to join our team in a dynamic retail environment. This pivotal role is essential to our operations, where you will be instrumental in recruiting top talent, fostering a positive work culture, and ensuring our staff have the support they need to succeed. The Store HR Representative provides HR support and assistance to store leadership through coaching and guidance on HR-related matters including staffing, workforce planning, training & development, retention, onboarding, employee relations, compensation, EEO, safety, and HR policy. You will partner closely with store leadership and the regional HR team to champion HR goals and strategies. In this role, you will assist with the staffing, interview, and selection process of leadership and non-leadership roles within the store, managing the applicant tracking system and applications for positions. You will oversee effective orientation, onboarding, and training to drive engagement and retention, while championing engagement through various HR key initiatives. Effective communication with all team members in the store is crucial, and you will engage leadership to ensure follow-up with team members. Additionally, you will assist in reporting, analysis, execution, and follow-up pertaining to talent management, talent development, talent acquisition, and total rewards processes and programs. You will provide guidance to store leadership on career development resources for their team members, track progress of individual development plans, and assist with the investigation and resolution of employee complaints or policy violations. This role is not a management position and is onsite only, equivalent to a lower-level HR Generalist or Senior HR Generalist. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in HR roles, particularly in employee relations and investigations, and familiarity with HRIS and applicant tracking systems.
