About The Position

The HR Operations Specialist at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center provides professional, onsite support for the administration of human resources policies and programs for Covenant Health. This role operates as a team lead at the facility level as applicable. The position is full-time, requiring 80 hours per pay period on a day shift. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience combined with professional HR certification.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in human resources functioning in an HR Generalist capacity.
  • Direct responsibility/involvement in employee relations functions.
  • Knowledge of legal issues related to employee relations.
  • Computer skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Advises managers/supervisors in resolving employee relations problems, disciplinary actions, and performance management issues.
  • Serves as liaison between employees and leadership to resolve employee relations issues.
  • Acts as special projects coordinator and leader on various HR projects as needed.
  • Conducts training programs related to employee relations issues such as performance evaluation, disciplinary program, sexual harassment, etc.
  • Participates in investigations and may draft responses to EEO or Tennessee Human Rights Commission charges.
  • Conducts Integrity/Compliance investigations and reports findings.
  • Responds to Tennessee Department of Employment Security Claims and represents Covenant Health on appeals.
  • Conducts follow up regarding findings from Compensation, HRIS, or Payroll audits.
  • Evaluates and participates in preparing Human Resources for Joint Commission compliance.
  • Ensures completion of Performance Evaluations and distributes notifications to managers regarding merit increase process and merit amounts.
  • Conducts HR portion of new employee orientation program and may participate in presentation of Employee Education Day.
  • Participates in analysis and development of human resource policies and procedures.
  • Works closely with Workers' Compensation and managers to identify light duty work, monitoring restrictions and accommodations.
  • Drafts and delivers separation agreements.
  • Coordinates employee recognition programs.
  • Assists in submittal of Authorization to Hires.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Completes required education assignments annually.
  • Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
