At Butterfly Effects, we are looking for a Human Resources Operations & Benefits Manager to oversee the systems, compliance processes, and employee benefit programs that keep our people operations running at their best. From HRIS optimization to administering benefits and managing complex leave situations, you will play a critical role in building the operational backbone that supports our mission and our growing organization. This position is based on site at our Deerfield Beach, Florida corporate office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 6+ years of progressive HR operations experience, including benefits and leave administration.
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of ACA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, and multi-state compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing HRIS platforms (Rippling strongly preferred).
  • Experience leading audits and compliance reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and process orientation.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the point of contact for HR data management, including employee records, organizational structure updates, pay rate changes, and system reporting.
  • Partner with Payroll and Finance to ensure accurate employee data flow for compensation, benefits deductions, ACA tracking, and compliance.
  • Manage unemployment claims process
  • Coordinate annual and periodic HR audits to verify system accuracy and compliance readiness (I-9, ACA, EEOC, unemployment, PTO audits, and related compliance reviews).
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and service delivery quality.
  • Oversee and optimize HR systems (Rippling), including configuration, workflows, system integrations, and data integrity.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining dashboards, metrics, and analytics related to headcount, turnover, PTO accruals, and operational performance.
  • Oversee administration of all employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans.
  • Manage enrollments, life event changes, and terminations within Rippling.
  • Lead annual open enrollment including communications, system configuration, education sessions, and audit reconciliation.
  • Partner with brokers and leadership on renewals, benchmarking, and cost analysis.
  • Review and reconcile monthly benefit invoices and coordinate timely payment with Finance.
  • Ensure compliance with ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee administration of FMLA, ADA, parental, military, and multi-state leave programs.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on leave laws and accommodation processes.
  • Guide managers and employees through leave eligibility, documentation, and return-to-work procedures.
  • Ensure accurate tracking, required notices, and proper payroll coordination.
  • Oversee ADA interactive process documentation and compliance tracking.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee health and leave records.
