About The Position

The Human Resources Officer (HRO) position at the Broward County Board of County Commissioners is a professional role within the Port Everglades Department. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in business or public administration, human resources, or a closely related field.
• Six years of experience in human resources, including two years of supervisory experience.
• Experience in staffing, compensation, employee/labor relations, and organizational development.

• HRCI-SPHR, IPMA-SCP, SHRM-SCP certifications.
• HRIS/ATS experience (Peoplesoft, NEOGOV).
• Public sector labor/employee relations/negotiations experience.
• Organizational training experience (4+ years).

Responsibilities

• Oversee human resources for the agency related to labor relations, staffing services, compensation, and training.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of HR support staff.
• Monitor agency's labor relations and advise on disciplinary proceedings.
• Facilitate Labor Management Committee meetings and participate in labor negotiations.
• Coordinate full-cycle recruitment activities for the agency.
• Advise on disciplinary actions and employee grievance processes.
• Initiate classification actions and conduct compensation analyses.
• Provide guidance on Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) matters.
• Prepare and deliver training on various HR topics to supervisory and managerial staff.
• Consult with agency directors and managers on HR-related issues.
