About The Position

Quanex is looking for a Human Resources Manager to join our team located in St. Cloud, MN. As a trusted and confidential advisor, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing Human Resources support through relationships with management and employees while providing direction and guidance at two plant locations (St Cloud, MN and Foreston, MN) supported by a Human Resources Generalist. You will manage the delivery of Human Resources on matters related to employee relations, performance management, training, talent management, legal compliance, and organizational development.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources Management or a related field required.
  • Master's degree and/or HR certification preferred.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing organizations.
  • Multi-site experience.
  • Expertise in a broad range of topics including employment law, organizational design and effectiveness, leadership development, succession planning, change management, culture assessment, employee/labor relations, and workers compensation.
  • Experience in working within fast paced, complex, dynamic business environment.

Responsibilities

  • Closely partners with organizational leadership on a broad range of HR services, providing coaching and consultation that contributes to the client strategy and business goals.
  • Leverage HR / business skills and knowledge to challenge or influence leadership in decision-making processes and acts as a change agent in the business to maximize all aspects of people performance.
  • Provides input on new and revised policies, programs, and procedures for employees and provides advice and recommendations to business unit management.
  • Resolves complex and broad employee relations problems or issues.
  • Oversees execution of human resources policies, programs, and implementation for all responsible locations.
  • Accountable to ensure employee information such as personnel records and HRIS are up to date and accurate.
  • Manage the leave of absence process to ensure employees are progressing with the goal of returning to work as planned.
  • Facilitates employee investigations.
  • Develops and sets employee communication strategy.
  • Ensure consistent, timely, and accurate application and compliance with applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10-20% (secondary site is within 30 minute drive).
