Community Health Action of Staten Island (CHASI) drives dramatic improvements in the health of New Yorkers by feeding people who are hungry, healing families broken apart by violence, and bridging the gaps between people and the compassionate health care they deserve. CHASI provides outreach, education, prevention, and direct support services for populations most affected by health disparities – people with low or no income, low-income people with chronic illnesses, people with criminal justice involvement, people who use drugs, domestic violence survivors, people of color, and the LGBTQ community. POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resources department provides comprehensive support to CHASI staff team to ensure smooth people operations of the organization and to enhance staff satisfaction and effectiveness. The department plays a crucial role in driving CHASI's culture in alignment with our mission and core values. CHASI has approximately 150 employees when fully staffed. The Human Resources Manager is a unique generalist role that is responsible for managing a variety of day-to-day and ongoing tasks to support the life cycle of employees at CHASI. This includes, but is not limited to, leading and facilitating onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, recruitment, staff engagement, staff relations, and special projects. The Human Resources Manager will be supervised by, and work as a collaborative partner with, the Vice President of Human Resources and will have the opportunity to help develop the department and agency-wide initiatives. This is a management-level position based on the scope of and competencies required for the role; it does not directly supervise any employees at this time. This role is primarily in person, with the option of one remote work day per week following the onboarding period.
