About The Position

WhitbeckBeglis, PLLC, is seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of the Human Resources department in our Leesburg, Virginia, office. This role is responsible for managing core HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, payroll administration, benefits management, and regulatory compliance. The Human Resources Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and staff while ensuring adherence to firm policies and employment laws.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of human resources management experience is preferred.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to access and navigate all departments within the firm’s facilities.

  • Prior experience in a professional services or legal environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Administrator for the HRIS, retirement plan, and benefits platforms.
  • Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and promptly.
  • Manage vendor relationships and reconcile invoices, including business insurance policies, health insurance, Short-term Disability, Long-term Disability, Worker’s Comp, and 401(k) plan invoices, in coordination with the Finance Department.
  • Performance Reporting of Legal Staff weekly, monthly, and quarterly to leadership.
  • Manage employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions and terminations, in accordance with firm policies and applicable laws.
  • Provide guidance and support to leadership and staff on complex, sensitive, and confidential HR matters.
  • Administer and facilitate employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations when necessary.
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts, identify candidates via job boards, social media, and LinkedIn
  • Coordinate with universities' career centers for on-campus interviews.
  • Review resumes, conduct phone screens, and perform initial interviews to assess candidate skills and culture fit.
  • Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Partner with department managers to assess staffing needs and identify required competencies for open roles.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review and update policies and procedures to reflect current best practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
