Our mission: To provide the best value to our clients through quality products, honest people, industry-leading practices and a commitment to excellence in animal care and all we do Core Values: Trust, Teamwork, Integrity, Commitment, and Respect General Responsibilities/Job Summary Oversees all functions of the Human Resources department, partnering closely with the general manager to develop, implement, and regularly review HR policies for continued improvement. Brings proven experience in HR or recruitment and possesses in-depth knowledge of both state and federal HR regulations. Key responsibilities include managing employee orientations, benefits administration, compensation, unemployment claims, workplace investigations, and other HR compliance-related duties, as well as resolving workplace conflicts. The HR manager excels at building positive relationships and demonstrates a detail-oriented, adaptable mindset to effectively support a dynamic workforce.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law, investigations, and employee relations
  • Experience supporting employees with HRIS systems and mobile applications
  • E-Verify knowledge
  • Knowledge of unemployment benefits and processes
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a plant-based, high-volume environment
  • Proven ability to build trust and credibility with employees and leadership
  • Experience mentoring others and promoting HR best practices across teams
  • Strong accountability and follow-through skills
  • Strong analytical/critical thinking
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Ability to independently make decisions with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize workload.
  • Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others.
  • Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration
  • Three to five years of experience in manufacturing or food production
  • Must be able to use hands for simple/firm grasping.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays.
  • Must be able to pass E-Verify.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of HR operations, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding of plant employees.
  • Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures
  • Administer employee benefits, payroll, timekeeping, and attendance systems.
  • Address employee relations issues, mediate conflicts, and support a positive, respectful work environment.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with HR policies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including licenses, certifications, and training documentation.
  • Lead or participate in investigations regarding workplace incidents or employee complaints.
  • Support supervisors and managers with performance management, disciplinary actions, and termination processes.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and high standards in employee performance and safety.
  • Understand and follow our animal welfare policy
