Human Resources Manager

ParallelleNew York, NY
20h$115,000 - $125,000Onsite

About The Position

We’re looking for a hands-on Human Resources Manager to own the full HR function at Parallelle. This is a true generalist role in a small, growing organization, covering recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits, and payroll coordination. This role is highly execution focused. You’ll partner with leadership and managers to support the culture we’re building, but your primary value will come from implementing, maintaining, and improving people processes that work in practice, not designing abstract frameworks or long-term people strategies. You’ll be embedded with the team day to day and expected to turn ideas into action, keep things moving, and ensure the fundamentals are solid as the company grows. This is an on-site role based in New York City.

Requirements

  • You’re an experienced HR generalist who has owned or significantly contributed to the full HR function.
  • You’re comfortable in a growing, fast-moving environment where not everything is fully built yet.
  • You have strong recruiting experience and enjoy being hands-on in the hiring process.
  • You bring sound judgment, empathy, and professionalism to employee relations work.
  • You’re organized, detail-oriented, and reliable when managing sensitive information.
  • You communicate clearly and work well in close partnership with managers and leadership.
  • You’re based in New York City and comfortable working in an on-site role.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting a growing or startup organization.
  • Prior experience building or improving HR processes from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Managing full-cycle recruiting, including partnering with leaders, posting roles, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and supporting offers and onboarding.
  • Administering day-to-day HR operations across the employee lifecycle, from onboarding and performance management to offboarding.
  • Partnering closely with managers on employee relations, performance issues, and people decisions as they arise.
  • Maintaining and evolving HR policies, procedures, and employee documentation as the organization grows.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including record-keeping and required reporting.
  • Coordinating payroll processes and working with external partners to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Managing benefits administration, including enrollments, renewals, employee questions, and broker relationships.
  • Handling confidential employee matters with discretion, sound judgment, and consistency.
  • Identifying gaps in people processes and building practical, right-sized systems to support a growing team.
