About The Position

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Human Resources department, reporting to the Director of Human Resources, and responsible for a variety of Human Resources functions. This position ensures compliance with hotel policies and procedures, conducts training, administers benefits, handles worker's compensation, oversees leaves of absence and manages the employee life cycle. Approach all encounters with guests and team members in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner. Complete new hire onboarding: scheduling interviews, conducting prescreening interviews, completing reference checks, and finalizing offers in a timely manner. Administer the offboarding process and prepare all HR documents for termination meetings. Oversee I9 compliance. Prepare necessary documents for new hire packages. Administer accurately the payroll system with new hires, changes, and terminations. Must ensure all reports are being completed for any workers compensation injury and may assist the manager in monitoring the claim & medical follow-up at the clinic. Monitor and maintain all applicable logs including leaves of absence, training, and orientation. Respond to unemployment claims. Ensure all legal postings are up to date. Ensure team member bulletin boards are up to date. Organize and coordinate team member weekly/monthly trainings and events. Participate in the Safety Committee meetings. Assist with special projects; planning employee events (meetings, parties, etc.). Other duties as required by Director of Human Resources Conduct/assist with training and orientation. Administer insurance benefits, calculate billing totals, explain benefits, assist with completion of enrollment, and answer questions. Compile review list and distribute to departments. Monitor and respond to Leaves of Absence. Monitor Workman's Compensation claims, complete required reporting, investigate injuries and follow-up with injured team members. Answer questions and assist team members with the 401(k) plan, vacation, and all other Company benefits. Prepare and place recruitment advertising and track team member referrals. Process paperwork for terminating employees. Become certified trainer in all Human Resources training modules. Ensure compliance with all HR and related Loss Prevention SOP's. Promote hotel vision/mission and guest service standards to all team members. Attend meetings as needed/required and in the absence of the Human Resources Director. Provide constant and consistent communication with other departments and supervisors/managers with regard to HR items such as the status of new hires, arranging trainings, policies/procedures, etc. Complete training on operating job specific systems: ADP- Workforce Now, Recruiting Management; various online benefits and other systems. Assist team members with questions and complaints timely, keep HR Director informed of the issues as they arise. Facilitate the hiring process through ADP Recruiting Management system by submitting backgrounds and assisting managers with the online hiring database. Maintain employee files. Regularly update the HR Director of open positions and candidate hiring progress. Send out regular HR notifications to all staff via Beekeeper and update postings regularly. Audit and complete special projects as needed. Other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • College degree required (preferably with focus in Human Resources)
  • 2 - 4 years progressive HR administrative experience (hospitality experience preferred)
