The Human Resource Manager will run the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and onboarding staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and enforcing company policies and practices.

  • Tracks, reviews, and documents adherence to mandatory and optional training programs, including safety, anti-harassment, licensure, and professional development.
  • Manages recruitment processes, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding qualified candidates.
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify hiring needs and required competencies.
  • Assists with the implementation and maintenance of company career site and other employment related social media activities.
  • Conducts background checks and verifies employment eligibility.
  • Coordinates and delivers new hire orientation and supports employee recognition initiatives.
  • Executes core HR functions such as benefits administration, leave management, compensation, disciplinary processes, conflict resolution, and employee relations.
  • Assists in processing employee payroll, manages timekeeping systems, and ensures accurate tracking of hours worked, PTO, and leave balances.
  • Develops, leads, and manages initiatives that promote employee health, well-being, and work-life balance, including mental health support, fitness programs, and wellness challenges.
  • Designs and implements strategies to boost engagement, connection, and retention through feedback programs, events, surveys, recognition systems, and team-building activities.
  • Responds to inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers.
  • Participates in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, ensuring fair and consistent processes.
  • Ensures organizational adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Regularly reviews policies to maintain compliance with evolving regulations and industry best practices.
  • Stays current on HR trends, legal developments, and emerging tools or technologies in talent management and compliance.
  • May assist in preparing and delivering timely and constructive performance evaluations.
  • Performs additional HR-related duties as assigned to support organizational needs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as HR Generalist.
  • Previous active full cycle recruiting experience.
  • Strategic thinker willing and able to carry out initiatives and perform project based and day to day tactical tasks effectively.
  • Interacts effectively at all levels - from warehouse associate to top company leaders.
  • Relationship builder with a proven track record for strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to prioritize and delegate, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, meets deadlines consistently.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Ability to travel locally in Northern California on a regular basis, extended travel as needed.
  • One or more years of Human Resources management experience.
  • SHRM-CP or other recognized Professional HR Certification.
