About the position

The Human Resources Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department, which includes employee relations, wage & salary, recruitment, benefit coordination, and the administration of policies and procedures. The role involves planning, organizing, and controlling all activities of the department, as well as participating in the development of department goals and objectives. The HR Manager will oversee payroll functions and time and attendance administration.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct recruitment and staffing practices for exempt and non-exempt positions.
  • Analyze wage and salary data to determine competitive compensation to ensure the recruitment and retention of a superior workforce.
  • Develop and maintain the Affirmative Action Program including records and reports in accordance with EEOC regulations.
  • Ensure annual EEO-1 filing and Vets report.
  • Execute new hire orientation process to ensure benefits, policies, and procedures are communicated effectively.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of management and staff, providing advice, guidance, and coaching.
  • Serve as advocate for both employee and management to work through corrective action or conflict resolution.
  • Develop strategies for creating an environment that fosters creativity, teamwork, cross-training and increased motivation of the HR staff.
  • Work closely with management on training needs to customize and implement programs focusing on individualized departmental training and management development.
  • Implement and administer Human Resources policies, programs, and practices.
  • Participate with the performance management system consisting of compensation strategies and structures that align with company goals.
  • Contribute to the organizational planning, job design, and personnel resources to ensure optimal staffing levels.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws governing Family Medical Leave Act, Americans Disabilities Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, and Equal Employment Opportunity.
  • Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with regulations and standards relating to Occupational Safety Standards Act.
  • Remain compliant with legislated reporting requirements and due diligence liability requirements.
  • Manage benefits administration to include enrollments, claims resolution, change reporting, processing invoices for payment, and communicating benefits information to employees.
  • Perform termination of employment and conduct exit interviews.
  • Oversee Human Resource Management System and run reports as needed.
  • Oversee weekly payroll administration and time and attendance system.
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings including presentations as required.
  • Stay abreast of current HR trends and maintain compliance with federal and state regulations.

Requirements

  • 10-15 years experience in Human Resources or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or related field or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of the HR field, federal and state laws, regulations, practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrate leadership and management skills.
  • Knowledge of computerized human resources information systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
