The Human Resource Manager at Hyatt Regency Los Angeles International Airport plays a pivotal role in the daily operations of the Human Resource Office. Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources or General Manager, this position is integral to ensuring that the HR department functions smoothly and effectively. The HR Manager will oversee a variety of responsibilities, including the hiring process, employee relations, compliance with employment laws, and the administration of employee benefits. This role requires a proactive approach to managing human resources activities and fostering a positive work environment for all associates. In this position, the HR Manager will be responsible for all aspects related to the hiring of associates, which includes advertising job postings, recruiting, interviewing, and processing transfers and orientations. The HR Manager will also handle internal associate transactions such as promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations. Implementing and monitoring employee relations and incentive programs is crucial, as is resolving any issues that arise in a timely manner. The HR Manager will coordinate and distribute the employee newsletter, conduct benefits orientations, and manage the COBRA program specific to the property. Ensuring compliance with all applicable employment practices and procedures is a key responsibility, as is the accurate administration of associate compensation and benefits. The HR Manager will investigate and manage workers' compensation claims and hotel safety-related issues, while also maintaining all necessary HR documents and records as required by government regulations and company policies. This role requires a commitment to representing the HR department professionally and maintaining an open-door policy for associates. The HR Manager will also be involved in training and development, ensuring that managers utilize positive coaching and counseling techniques to address employee concerns. Participation in the Employee Opinion Survey and managing recruitment resources are additional responsibilities. The HR Manager must demonstrate effectiveness in problem-solving and be able to assimilate complex information from various sources to meet the needs of the hotel and its associates.
