About The Position

The Human Resources Manager will oversee the HR function for a multi-company organization with approximately 140 employees. This role involves supporting employee development, onboarding, recruitment, HR compliance, and performance management while serving as a point of contact for employee queries and concerns.

Requirements

  • Previous experience and a well-rounded knowledge of human resources (HR) including employee relations and compliance matters.
  • Strong Emotional I.Q. (E.Q.) to work well with various personality types and support both craft labor and the executive team.
  • Ability to bring options, ideas, and solutions to human resources situations.
  • Hands-on doer and strategic builder capable of creating, implementing, and running initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Spanish
  • Human Resources certification (PHR / SPHR / SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP or related)
  • Knowledge of union labor relations, union contracts, or prior experience in a labor relations role.

Responsibilities

  • Own the HR function for a multi-company organization with approximately 140 employees.
  • Support employee development initiatives, onboarding, recruiting, HR compliance, and performance management.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee queries, providing guidance and support on HR policies and procedures.
  • Handle employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances professionally, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Assist in the implementation of performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback sessions.
  • Support managers in addressing performance issues and developing action plans for improvement.
  • Conduct new employee orientations and manage the onboarding and offboarding process.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from job posting to interviewing, selection, and offer process.
  • Ensure company policies are updated in accordance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Process all 401k contributions, enrollments, and loans.
  • Complete and audit payroll changes in the form of benefit deductions and salary changes.
  • Process all wage garnishments.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave management.
  • Provide guidance to employees on benefit options and manage the annual benefits enrollment process.
  • Participate in HR initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing employee engagement and improving processes.
  • Monitor HR metrics for KPIs and performance.
  • Perform minor office manager duties, including supply monitoring and ordering.
