About The Position

KeHE, a natural, organic, specialty and fresh food distributor, is seeking a strong HR Manager who can take ownership, is a problem solver, and leverages continuous improvement methodologies. This role will lead a variety of HR strategic initiatives and will be a strategic partner with DC leadership for ongoing employee engagement activities. The HR Manager will facilitate conversations with employees to create and/or enhance employee engagement initiatives and collaborate with management on HR practices, policies, and procedures. The position requires managing human resources materials, administering benefit programs, conducting workplace investigations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years previous management experience within food service and/or grocery industry.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and HRIS systems and software required.
  • Proficient with MS Office.
  • Knowledge of employment law and government compliance regulations required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field is preferred.
  • PHR, SPHR preferred.
  • Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve emotional and complex problems.
  • Capability of prioritizing and handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively with peers, region and corporate leadership, and the sales force.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all human resources materials, including personnel files, new hire forms, I-9s, W-4s, 401k plan, manuals, and other personnel documents.
  • Disseminate human resources policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results.
  • Administer the benefit program including life, health, dental, vision, and disability insurance.
  • Manage employee Leave of Absence program.
  • Prepare employee separation notices and conduct exit interviews.
  • Conduct management and employee training necessary for compliance.
  • Conduct internal workplace investigations and ensure proper resolution.
  • Leverage talent acquisition support to source, screen, and interview candidates.
  • Perform new hire employee orientations.
  • Administer and manage workers compensation claims.
  • Maintain working relationship with Union officials and adhere to labor contract terms.
  • Represent management in grievance investigations and hearings.
  • Respond to all EEOC and/or NLRB charges.
